This is something I wrote this summer when some dear friends were facing a “hard path.”
We all will have times when we need to hear that there is hope and light at the end of the path we are on. I have been there myself.
I hope this provides a little hope and comfort to those of you who are in the middle of your own struggle.
I took this picture and wrote this piece about a year and a half ago.
I was out on the Oregon Coast and climbing over slippery rocks through a “tunnel” of dark rock. I came around a corner and saw this. When I did, the feeling of it struck me like a gut punch and I felt the emotion of it.
The darkness encroaching on all sides, the treacherous path and the reward for my perseverance at the end…do you see it?
I went home with these words swirling around in my mind, created the image and wrote the text you see. It came straight from my heart and was written with some dear friends in mind, but has been a reminder to myself multiple times since then.
